Class 2 Driver - Burnley

2‑Week Contract from 7th April

The Best Connection are currently recruiting an experienced Class 2 (Category C) Driver for a 2‑week assignment based in Burnley, delivering building materials to trade and domestic customers. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable driver seeking short‑term but consistent work with straightforward duties and well‑planned routes.

About the Role

You will be completing 2-5 drops per day, covering long‑distance delivery routes across the region. Vehicles are pre‑loaded for you, meaning no depot handball is required. Deliveries involve general building materials being transported to customer sites, builder's merchants, construction locations, and DIY addresses.

This role is ideal for a Class 2 driver with strong road knowledge, good communication skills, and a professional approach.

Shift Pattern & Hours

• Monday to Friday only
• Start time: 07:00
• Minimum 8 hours paid
• Two‑week placement starting 7th April
• Potential for further ad‑hoc work depending on performance and business needs

Pay Rate

• £14.50 per hour
• Weekly pay
• Holiday pay accrued separately

Key Duties

• Complete 2-5 drops per shift to various customer locations
• Transport a range of building materials (palletised, bagged, timber, etc.)
• Ensure safe unloading at each delivery point (assisted by site staff where required)
• Conduct daily vehicle checks in line with DVSA guidelines
• Maintain accurate paperwork and delivery notes
• Communicate with the transport office regarding progress, delays or issues

Requirements

• Valid Class 2 (Category C) licence
• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph cards
• Minimum 1 year Class 2 driving experience (preferably more)
• Confident with long‑distance driving and multi‑drop schedules
• Good customer service skills at delivery points
• Reliable, punctual, and safety‑focused
