The Best Connection is recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 (LGV C+E) Drivers to work with our client based in Killingworth. Due to ongoing business requirements, our client is looking to strengthen its transport team with reliable drivers for regular night trunking work.

The role involves a simple return trunk run with a trailer swap at a service station, with no handballing or multidrop deliveries.

The Role - HGV Class 1 Night Trunking

As an HGV Class 1 Night Driver, your responsibilities will include:

• Starting your shift at 20:30.
• Completing a night trunking run to a designated service station.
• Carrying out a trailer swap before returning.
• Completing straightforward trunking work with no handballing or multidrop deliveries.
• Maintaining a professional, reliable and safety-conscious approach throughout your shift.
• Communicating effectively with the transport team and representing both our client and The Best Connection professionally.

Regular ongoing night shifts are available, with additional shifts potentially available depending on operational requirements.

Requirements - Class 1 Night Driver Jobs

To be considered for this HGV Class 1 driving role, you must have:

• A valid UK Category C+E (Class 1) driving licence.
• At least two years of commercial HGV Class 1 driving experience.
• A clean driving licence preferred, although minor points may be considered.
• Good communication skills and a professional attitude.
• A reliable and punctual approach to work.
• Flexibility to meet operational requirements.

HGV Class 1 Night Driver Pay Rates

The PAYE hourly rates for this role are:

• Monday to Friday: £16.25 per hour for the first 8 hours.
• Monday to Friday: £24.38 per hour after the first 8 hours, paid at time and a half.
• Saturday: £24.38 per hour for all hours worked, paid at time and a half.

Working Hours and Night Shifts

• Night shift position with a 20:30 start time.
• Regular ongoing trunking work available.
• Additional shifts may be offered depending on operational requirements.
