The Best Connection are currently recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 (CE) Drivers for ongoing trunking and shunting work based in Team Valley, Gateshead.

This is an excellent opportunity for professional HGV drivers seeking regular work, competitive pay rates and the potential for a permanent position.

The role offers a 4 on / 2 off shift pattern, with no multi-drop deliveries involved.

The Role

• Driving HGV Class 1 vehicles on trunking routes between sites
• Shunting HGV vehicles and trailers within a secure site
• Completing trunking and shunting duties safely and efficiently
• Ensuring loads are secure and transported safely
• Carrying out daily vehicle checks
• Following site procedures and safety requirements
• Working a 4 on / 2 off shift pattern
• Ongoing temporary work with the opportunity to become permanent

The Candidate

To be considered, you must:

• Hold a valid UK HGV Class 1 (Category CE) driving licence
• Have a valid Driver CPC qualification
• Hold a valid Digital Tachograph Card
• Have previous Class 1 driving experience
• Have trunking or shunting experience (preferred)
• Be reliable, punctual and safety-conscious
• Be flexible and able to work a 4 on / 2 off rota
• Be able to commute reliably to Team Valley, Gateshead

Hours of Work

• 4 on / 2 off shift pattern
• 08:00 starts
• Monday to Sunday, including weekends and bank holidays as required
• Regular, ongoing work

Pay Rates

• Monday to Friday: £14.37 per hour
• Monday to Friday after 8 hours: £18.45 per hour
• Saturday: £17.68 per hour
• Sunday: £19.48 per hour
• Bank Holidays: £21.52 per hour
