We are currently recruiting a HGV1 Driver for a our client based in Canterbury specialising in the delivery and collection of steel across Kent, Sussex, and London.
Job Description:
As an HGV1 Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of steel. This role requires excellent driving skills, adherence to safety regulations, and a commitment to providing top-notch customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely load, transport, and deliver steel across Kent, Sussex, and London.
- Ensure all deliveries are made on time and in excellent condition.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and collections using the company’s system.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Communicate effectively with the logistics team and customers to provide excellent service.
Requirements:
- Valid HGV1 (Class 1) driving license.
- Valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
- Digital Tachograph Card.
- Previous experience in driving HGV1 vehicles
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and defensive driving techniques.
- Excellent time management and organisational skills.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
- Ability to handle physical work, including chaining down steel
