Part-Time FLT Counterbalance Driver / Warehouse Operative
Location: Sheffield City Centre
Pay Rate: £13.00 per hour
Days: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday

The Best Connection (TBC) is currently recruiting on behalf of our client based in Sheffield City Centre for an experienced Part-Time FLT Counterbalance Driver / Warehouse Operative.

This role is working for a small business that sells bespoke glass products online. The successful candidate must be reliable, trustworthy, and comfortable working independently, as there will be times when you are working alone.

Key Responsibilities

Goods In

• Accepting deliveries of glass and unloading using a forklift

• Handling heavy and fragile glass products carefully

• Occasionally handballing glass from long wheelbase vehicles

• Receiving and processing other incoming goods such as hardware, packing materials and supplier deliveries

• Unpacking stock and placing items in the correct warehouse locations

Goods Out

• Picking and packing hardware for customer orders

• Packing large glass sections safely and securely

• Building and packing boxes to protect items during transit

• Photographing and recording packed items before dispatch

• Preparing shipments for courier collection including:

  • Creating manifests

  • Generating labels

  • Checking quantities against paperwork

  • Ensuring items are packed and labelled correctly

Local Deliveries (Occasional)

• Completing occasional local deliveries using the company van

• Representing the company professionally when delivering goods

Warehouse Standards

• Keeping the warehouse clean, organised and safe

• Maintaining tidy internal and external areas including loading and parking zones

Requirements

• Valid FLT Counterbalance licence

• Full UK driving licence held for a minimum of 5 years (maximum 6 points)

• Previous warehouse experience

• Physically capable of handling heavy items

• Careful when handling fragile goods

• Reliable, punctual and able to work independently
