At The Best Connection, we are currently recruiting for 7.5T/Class 2 drivers for a company that deliver top-quality DIY products to both commercial and domestic customers. We are looking for drivers to cover sites in Ashford.

Position Overview
As a Cat C1/C Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our customers receive their DIY products on time and in perfect condition. You will be responsible for both commercial and domestic deliveries, using your driving skills and exceptional customer service to represent the company in a positive light.

Pay Rates

Class 2

Monday - Friday up to 8 hours - £16.35 per hour

Monday to Friday over 8 hours - £24.52 per hour

Saturday - £24.52 per hour

Sunday and Bank Holidays - £32.69 per hour

Monday - Friday up to 8 hours - £14.43 per hour

Monday to Friday over 8 hours - £21.65 per hour

Saturday - £21.65 per hour

Sunday and Bank Holidays - £28.86 per hour

You need to be able to commit to more than just weekend work to be eligible.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Class 2 or 7.5T vehicle, adhering to all traffic and safety regulations.
• Load and unload DIY products onto the vehicle with the help of a porter, ensuring secure and organised transport.
• Plan delivery routes efficiently to maximise productivity and minimise delays.
• Provide outstanding customer service during product deliveries, maintaining a professional and friendly demeanour.
• Verify the accuracy of orders and ensure all necessary paperwork is completed.
• Report any vehicle maintenance issues promptly to the appropriate department.
• Collaborate with the warehouse team to organise product loading and stock management.
• Maintain a clean and organised vehicle, conducting regular safety checks.

Qualifications

• Valid Class 2/7.5T driving license (C OR C1 category) with CPC qualification.
• Previous experience as a Class 2 or 7.5T driver, preferably in a delivery role.
• Knowledge of local road networks and routes.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service abilities.
• Physical fitness to handle heavy lifting and manual tasks.
• A proactive and positive attitude, with a commitment to safety.
• A reliable and responsible work ethic.
