Plant Nursery Operative - Multiple Roles Available

• Location: Sittingbourne
• Hours: Monday to Friday | 08:30 - 16:30
• Seasonal Role: March - late September

We are currently recruiting Plant Nursery Operatives to support our client in Sittingbourne during their busy growing season. This is a hands-on, outdoor role with multiple positions available, offering a variety of duties to suit different experience levels and strengths.

Available Roles

1. Order Picking and Dispatch

This role focuses on preparing customer orders for dispatch.

Duties include:

• Picking plant orders accurately
• Loading trailers for dispatch (heavy lifting involved)
• Dead-heading and pre-preparation of orders
• General plant handling and care

Good plant knowledge would be a strong advantage for this role.

2. Bedding Down (Outdoor Role)

A physically demanding, outdoor position working with larger plants.

Duties include:

• Removal of large plants from the ground
• Outdoor nursery work across planting areas
• Assisting with machinery and stock movement

Previous small tractor driving experience is preferred but not essential.

3. Potting Line Operative

A lighter-duty role requiring good attention to detail.

Duties include:

• Working alongside an automated potting machine
• Quality control of finished products
• Dead-heading, watering, and general plant care
• Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the work area

About You

• Previous plant nursery experience is desirable but not essential
• Candidates from farming, agricultural, or outdoor/manual roles are welcome
• Comfortable with a mixture of light and heavy physical work, depending on role
• Reliable, hardworking, and able to work early starts
• Mini or small tractor experience would be advantageous but is not required
