Environmental, Social and Governance

At The Best Connection, we are committed to driving positive environmental, social, and governance (ESG) outcomes in all aspects of our operations. Our ESG policy reflects our dedication to sustainability, responsible business practices, and ethical conduct.

Environmental Responsibility

We recognise the importance of minimising our environmental footprint and actively seek opportunities to reduce waste, conserve resources, and mitigate climate impact in all areas of our business. Through innovation and efficiency measures, we aim to contribute to a healthier planet for current and future generations.

Social Impact

We prioritise the well-being of our employees, clients, temporary workers, communities, and stakeholders. We foster an inclusive and diverse workplace where everyone is treated with dignity and respect, ensuring equal opportunities for all. Moreover, our commitment to social responsibility extends beyond our business operations to the communities in which we operate. We are active supporters of local and national charities and encourage our employees to give back to their local communities with two paid volunteering days each year.

Governance Integrity

Integrity and transparency are fundamental to our governance practices. As an ISO 9001 accredited organisation, we adhere to the highest standards of ethics, accountability, and compliance in all our dealings. Our governance framework promotes fairness, honesty, and responsible decision-making, ensuring trust and confidence among our clients and other stakeholders.

Continuous Improvement

We recognise that ESG performance is an ongoing journey, and we are dedicated to continuous improvement in all areas of our business. Through regular assessments, stakeholder engagement, and collaboration, we seek to identify opportunities for further advancement and address emerging challenges proactively.  Our in-house Compliance, Quality and Assurance team work tirelessly to provide a thorough framework of policies and procedures, to which the business is held accountable.

Partnerships and Advocacy

We recognise that collective action is essential for achieving meaningful progress on shared ESG goals. We actively engage with partners, industry peers, and policymakers to promote policies and practices that drive positive change and advance sustainability on a broader scale.  As a responsible recruiter we are proud to be members of the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC), the Association of Labour Providers and Stronger Together.

Our Future

At The Best Connection our ESG commitment is integral to our business strategy, guiding our actions as we strive to create long-term value for all stakeholders while contributing to a more sustainable and equitable world.

Corporate Social Responsibility

At The Best Connection, corporate social responsibility (CSR) is an integral part of our business philosophy. We are committed to making a positive impact on society and the environment through our initiatives and responsible practices.

Corporate Social Responsibility is something we take very seriously, and it is integrated into our core business decisions. We aim to:

  • Comply with, and exceed where practicable, all applicable legislation, regulations, and codes of practice.
  • Minimise the impact and maximise the benefits that our work has on the environment and the people around us.
  • Continually strive to improve our CSR performance by delivering gradual but continuous improvements every year, evolving our approach as we learn lessons along the way.

Our Commitment

Our CSR commitment extends to three key areas: People, Planet and Community.

Our People

As a responsible recruiter we are committed to fighting modern slavery and provide annual Modern Slavery training to ensure all employees have the correct skills to identify and act to protect the safety of our candidates. Find out more details about our Modern Slavery policy here.

We maintain a fair remuneration policy, ensuring all temporary workers receive the correct pay on time.

We invest in training and development programs to empower our staff and promote their personal and professional advancement, celebrating success along the way.

Our Community

At The Best Connection, we recognise that no business operates in isolation, and we are mindful and appreciative of, the communities in which we operate.  We encourage our employees to make a positive contribution to their local areas, and build long-lasting relationships with their clients, temporary workers and local businesses and organisations.

Throughout our 30-year history we have supported both local and national charitable organisations with numerous fund-raising activities and community initiatives.  We encourage our employees to volunteer their time to help others and offer paid Volunteer Days where staff can provide hands-on support in their local area.

Take a look at some of our Community initiatives here.

Our Planet

At The Best Connection, we recognise the importance of environmental sustainability and take proactive steps to minimise our ecological footprint, both at Head Office and throughout our branch network.

Through responsible resource management, waste reduction, and energy efficiency initiatives, such as the installation of solar panels and the transition to an EV company car fleet, we strive to protect and preserve the planet for future generations.

We promote environmental awareness and encourage sustainable practices among our employees, both at work and in their personal lives.

As part of our drive towards continuous improvement, we are constantly evaluating and enhancing our CSR practices to align with evolving social and environmental challenges. By embracing our corporate social responsibility, we strive to create a better future for our employees, communities, and the world at large.
