Loading Shovel Operator

The Best Connection are looking for 2 x Loading Shovel Operatives for one of our clients based in the Chesterfield area.

Our client have been delivering environmentally responsible solution to manage waste and water for their customers households, industries and local authorities. They are looking for experience operatives to join their team on a temporary basis.

The Loading Shovel Operative will be responsible for operating and maintaining loading shovel equipment efficiently and safely to facilitate the movement of materials around the site. The role requires high levels of attention, proficiency and a commitment to adhering to health and safety protocols. The role will also require you to carry out housekeeping duties including manual handling.

Hours of work:

• Monday to Friday 08:00am to 17:00pm.

Key responsibilities:

• Operating loading shovel equipment to load and unload materials such as aggregates, waste and other materials as required.
• Ensure the safe and efficient movement of materials around the site, adhering to all safety procedures and regulations.
• Perform routine inspections to ensure the proper functioning of machines.
• Assist with other site duties as required.
• Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors.
• Comply at all times with company policy and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience operating loading shovel equipment.
• Hold a current valid operators licence certificate for a front-end loading shovel.
• Hold a CSCS card.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Able to physically manipulate items around the site including lifting and moving heavy materials.
