The Best Connection are recruiting for a Warehouse Despatch Supervisor to work for a well known healthcare supplier in Barnsley.
Job Purpose:
Ensure the Despatch team perform at peak efficiency, with customer satisfaction being the primary goal. Delivered by organising, directing, KPI reporting and supporting departmental goals. The Warehouse Supervisor – Despatch is responsible for the printing of orders, picking and packing activities within the National Distribution Centre, reasonably responsible for the Health & Safety and compliance as well as the coaching and support of the team.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Picking and packing customer orders in accordance with their individual requirements, daily workload allocation and pre-agreed targets
- The use of counterbalance or reach trucks as and where required (where the appropriate license is held)
- Support the development of the Despatch operation
- Work with Operations Managers to solve day to day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals
- Review and prepare workflows, equipment layout and develop action plans to deliver Despatch excellence
- Coordinate and monitoring of departmental operational policies and procedures
- Support the induction of new Warehouse employees into the department including role specific training with risk assessments where appropriate
- Identify resource gaps during peak times and propose solutions to the Operations Manager - Despatch
- Liaise with the Warehouse Administrator, Operations Manager - Despatch and Warehouse Manager to support route planning and vehicle capacities
Regular working hours 10:00-18:30 and 13:00-21:30 on alternate weeks.
May be expected to cover the 06:00-14:30 on occasions with notice.
1-4/5 weekends on shift 06:00-14:30.
