Job Advert: Warehouse Operative/Supervisor
Location: Thatcham
Salary: £27,000 per annum (Annual bonus based on company performance)
Holiday Allowance: 25 days (Including three days for Christmas shutdown)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 17:00
The Best Connection are recruiting on behalf of their client for a Warehouse Operative/Supervisor to join a friendly team based in Thatcham. This position will involve assisting with the day-to-day duties of a busy warehouse, supporting the Operations Manager, and providing cover in their absence.
Role Overview:
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with experience in warehouse operations and the potential to take on a supervisory role. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing daily warehouse tasks, ensuring the team meets operational goals, and maintaining high standards within the warehouse. Previous supervisory experience is essential, but not necessarily required.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure goods are picked and packed in a timely manner with professional care
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised warehouse environment
- Follow and enforce Health & Safety guidelines
- Manage computer-based systems to oversee warehouse operations
- Perform manual lifting of goods of various sizes and weights
- Load and unload vehicles with products
- Carry out general warehouse ad-hoc duties as required
- Check inbound and outbound goods for accuracy and quality
- Use initiative to resolve problems and improve processes
- Gain a strong understanding of the company’s wide-ranging products
- Provide cover for the Operations Manager during holiday periods
- Initiate and manage compliance reports
- Hold responsibility as a key holder to the premises
- Liaise with Sales Representatives on supplies and customer queries
- Communicate with customers regarding warranty issues and inspect products for repair
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a supervisory role is essential, though not required
- Ability to work with computer-based systems for warehouse management
- Strong attention to detail and a focus on maintaining a clean, safe working environment
- Physical fitness to handle manual lifting
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise with customers and colleagues
- Strong initiative and the ability to work independently
- Knowledge of warehouse processes and Health & Safety regulations
