We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Stores Controller to join our client based in Thatcham. This is a full-time position with opportunities for long-term employment and career development for the right candidate.

Role Overview:

As an Assistant Stores Controller, you will support warehouse operations by managing stock movement, assisting with inventory control, and ensuring materials are handled efficiently and accurately. The role includes van driving, loading/unloading duties, and helping to maintain a clean and organised warehouse across two sites in Thatcham.

Key Responsibilities:

• Pick, pack, and prepare orders accurately
• Check goods in and out against paperwork
• Store and rotate stock correctly
• Update stock records and label items
• Report damaged or missing goods
• Assist with stock movement and deliveries
• Support stock counts and audits
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised warehouse
• Follow all health & safety procedures
• Support quality checks and improvement efforts

Requirements:

• Forklift Licence with relevant experience (essential)
• Clean UK Driving Licence (essential)
• Previous experience in a warehouse or stores role
• Good attention to detail and ability to work methodically
• Physically fit and comfortable working in a manual environment
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team

Working Hours:

• Monday to Friday
• 07:00 – 15:30 (40 hours per week)
