We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Stores Controller to join our client based in Thatcham. This is a full-time position with opportunities for long-term employment and career development for the right candidate.
Role Overview:
As an Assistant Stores Controller, you will support warehouse operations by managing stock movement, assisting with inventory control, and ensuring materials are handled efficiently and accurately. The role includes van driving, loading/unloading duties, and helping to maintain a clean and organised warehouse across two sites in Thatcham.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders accurately
- Check goods in and out against paperwork
- Store and rotate stock correctly
- Update stock records and label items
- Report damaged or missing goods
- Assist with stock movement and deliveries
- Support stock counts and audits
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised warehouse
- Follow all health & safety procedures
- Support quality checks and improvement efforts
Requirements:
- Forklift Licence with relevant experience (essential)
- Clean UK Driving Licence (essential)
- Previous experience in a warehouse or stores role
- Good attention to detail and ability to work methodically
- Physically fit and comfortable working in a manual environment
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday
- 07:00 – 15:30 (40 hours per week)
