Job Title: Warehouse Manager

Salary: Circa £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (with flexibility required during peak periods)
Our well-established, family-run business specialising in eco-friendly packaging solutions. We’re looking for a proactive and experienced Warehouse Manager to lead our clients warehouse operations at our clients facility. This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for overseeing a team of six warehouse operatives while working closely with our delivery drivers, customer service, and purchasing teams.
Role Summary
You’ll be accountable for the day-to-day running of the warehouse—from goods-in to dispatch—ensuring smooth operations, accurate order fulfilment, and a safe, well-organised working environment. We're looking for someone with strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to drive a culture of professionalism and efficiency. Experience with warehouse management systems and digital tools is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily opening - Open the warehouse at 6:00am, Monday to Friday
- Perform security checks, disable alarms, unlock access points, and power up equipment
Team Leadership & Culture
- Supervise a team of six warehouse operatives
- Plan shift schedules, delegate tasks, and monitor team performance
- Lead by example in conduct, timekeeping, and professional appearance
- Deliver regular briefings and 1:1 coaching sessions
- Manage recruitment, onboarding, and performance matters
Order Order Fulfilment & Logistics Coordination
- Oversee the receipt and inspection of incoming stock
- Ensure accurate picking, packing, and timely dispatch
- Coordinate with delivery drivers to plan daily routes and delivery schedules
- Maintain accurate shipment records and labelling
Warehouse Organisation & Presentation
- Maintain a clean, well-structured warehouse environment
- Conduct routine checks to ensure all areas remain clear, safe, and operational
- Keep storage areas tidy, logical, and accessible
Health & Safety
- Enforce safe working practices and the use of PPE
- Perform daily safety inspections and report hazards promptly
- Record incidents and follow through on corrective actions
Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor KPIs such as order accuracy and throughput
- Provide weekly performance summaries
- Identify operational bottlenecks and propose practical improvements
- Collaborate with purchasing, sales, and transport teams to resolve daily issues
A bit more about you;
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience supervising or managing in a warehouse or similar environment
- Strong organisational and team leadership skills
- Proficient with warehouse software, handheld scanners, and spreadsheets
- High attention to detail and strong problem-solving abilities
- Confident communicator and motivator
- Forklift trained and experienced
- Full, clean UK driving licence
