TRANSPORT SUPERVISOR
Location: Rotherham
Reports To: Operations Manager
Shift: Monday-Friday Days/Afters Weekly Rotation

Role Overview: The Transport Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing the company's transportation operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and cost-effective delivery of goods. Reporting to the Head of Operations, this role involves coordinating with various departments, managing a team of drivers and logistics personnel, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITES
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee the daily operations of the transport department to ensure timely and efficient delivery of goods
- Develop and implement transportation strategies that align with company objectives and customer requirements
- Monitor and optimise transportation costs while maintaining high service levels
- Team Leadership and Development skills
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of transport legislation and implement necessary changes to company procedures
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential safety hazards
- Fleet Management experience
- Performance Monitoring and Reporting
- Customer Service and Relationship Management
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred
- Professional certifications such as the Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) in Road Haulage is required
- Proven experience in a transport management role within a logistics or distribution environment
- Demonstrated ability to manage a team and oversee complex transportation operations
