We at The Best Connection are looking for a Transport Planner to join our client based in Chesterfield. You’ll be responsible for route planning and ensuring that their transport department always runs in an efficient and effective manner.

You’ll work on a 4 on 4 off basis, working the hours from 6am-6pm

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Track daily deliveries using the in-house vehicle tracking systems
• Fully utilise all vehicles to ensure accurate and appropriate allocation of drivers, vehicles, trailers, customer deliveries & trunking and backhaul.
• Work closely with the operations to ensure vehicles and trailers are available to support the transport requirement.
• Communicate and share efficient and customer focused plans with the local transport teams in a timely fashion.
• Control and plan operational deliveries requirements & alterations

Requirements:

• Planning experience
• Customer service
• Excellent communication skills
• First Class organisational skills
• Microsoft Office
• Happy to work weekends
• Able to work 12hrs on a 4 on 4 off basis
• You may at times be required to take home work phone for any driver quieries
