The Best Connection are recruiting for a Transport Coordinator for our clientbased in Darlington on a Temp to Perm basis. Our client is a global logistics company and provide transport services to a manufacturing site in Darlington.

The role:

• Allocate driver schedule
• Debrief at start/end of shift
• Manage transport issues throughout the day, keeping customer up to date with issues
• Fill in various driver reports
• Manage annual leave cover with agency/subcontractors
• Look to improve vehicle efficiency and plan back haul loads
• Report defects to maintenance provider to minimise downtime
• Filing of drivers paperwork
• Working with Team Leaders and Manager to learn/manage driver compliance

The candidate:

• Background in transport preferable
• Good administration and organisation
• Strong communication skills
• Flexible and able to work under pressure

Hours of work:

• Monday to Friday
• 13:00pm to 21.00pm (with requirement to cover annual eave on night shift)
• Whilst training will work a mixture of 06.00am to 14.00pm; 13.00pm to 21.00pm; 22:00pm to 06.00am

Pay Rates:

• £12.01 per hour basic rate
• £18.02 per hour overtime rate
