The Best Connection Bedford are currently look to recruit Refuse Loaders to work for our client, based in the Putnoe Area of Bedford. This is a great opportunity to work with one of our long standing clients in Bedford.

Shift Pattern: Monday - Friday 06.30 - 15.30hrs, Overtime rates apply after 15.30 hrs

Pay rate is £11.44 per hour, overtime is paid after 42.5 hours.

Saturday overtime rate is £17.16 per hour, Bank holiday overtime rate is £22.88 per hour.

Duties to include, but are not limited to:

• Working as part of a refuse team collecting wheelie bins of domestic and/or garden waste
• Following a refuse vehicle around housing routes
• Ensuring that the bins are loaded safely onto the vehicles
• Working outside and reporting incidents such as fly tipping and damaged bins, lamp posts and street signs
• Previous experience of working outside is essential
• Previous experience carrying out physical and demanding work is essential

• It is essential that you are able to work 5 days a week, although it is not guaranteed that you will always be working 5 days, some days you will be required to be on standby
• Candidates are required to walk up to or above 5 miles per day, so physical fitness is essential
• Living locally or having your own transport is essential due to working hours
• Candidates are required to be able to get to the depot for 06:30 on a daily basis and work until duties are completed
• Standard working hours are 06:30 - 15:30, Monday to Friday
• Before starting this role, all candidates are required to attend an induction lasting 4 hours, which will be paid. upon completion of first week in work.
