The Best Connection are currently recruiting for a Production Planner/Production Co-Ordinator of behalf of a market leading manufacturing client in Littlehampton; initially on an full time ongoing temporary basis.

Purpose of the role - "Develop and manage production schedules to meet customer demand and ensure on-time delivery across the multi disciplined teams"

Main Roles & Responsibilities

  • Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as necessary to address delays or issues.
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate raw materials and finished goods, coordinating with procurement to address shortages or overstock.
  • Communicate regularly with the Commercial team on Build plan performance, target delivery dates and delays where required
  • Identify potential bottlenecks or risks in production and develop proactive solutions to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
  • Raise works orders / Sub contract Pos for external subcontract processing where required, building the process time into the plan.
  • Help create and monitor KPI measures for the facility, these will include Build Plan adherence, downtime, Sickness, Absence, Stock levels, etc
  • Forecasting & Reporting: Provide regular updates on production status to senior management, supporting data-driven insights for strategic planning.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on production performance and schedule adherence.
  • Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Quality Control, and Logistics to ensure smooth production processes.
  • Adhere to QHSE and other company policies and procedures and support our vision to be the customers first choice
  • Support the needs of the business by undertaking any task as requested by management provided the task is within your capability and appropriate training is provided

Skills, Qualifications Required

  • Proven experience in production planning, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Strong understanding of production processes and supply chain management
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Excel
  • Sage 200 experience would be beneficial but not essential

Working Hours

  • Monday to Thursday; 8:30am - 5pm and Friday, 8:30am - 2pm
