Are you passionate about driving change and championing continuous improvement? one of our client in Rochester is seeking a dynamic Continuous Improvement Engineer to spearhead our Lean and problem-solving initiatives. Role Overview:

As our Continuous Improvement Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in implementing Lean methodology and Continuous Improvement strategies across all departments. You’ll have the autonomy to lead change initiatives and drive a culture of accountability, aiming to enhance performance, reduce waste, and foster skill development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement and Lead: Drive the implementation of Continuous Improvement strategies in alignment with the General Manager and Operations Manager. Lead and manage improvement processes, promoting accountability and efficiency.
  • Education and Development: Train employees in Lean tools and techniques. Develop and maintain a program to keep knowledge and commitment up-to-date.
  • Process Optimization: Support Lean initiatives in manufacturing areas to improve quality, reduce waste, and achieve clear, measurable outcomes.
  • Metrics and Analysis: Identify, implement, and maintain metrics to evaluate process improvements. Report monthly on Operational Excellence performance.
  • Collaboration and Support: Partner with the site leadership team to achieve waste reduction goals. Investigate new machinery and technologies to enhance processes and reduce costs.
  • Challenge and Inspire: Challenge the status quo, engage with team members, and lead the 5S program through training and auditing. Assist in creating and maintaining accurate SOP documentation.

Key Requirements:

  • Education: Degree level or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience: Background in engineering, preferably within the aerospace or foundry industry. Familiarity with Airbus tools and processes is advantageous.
  • Skills: Lean Manufacturing training with practical experience. Strong IT literacy, particularly with MS Excel (intermediate-to-advanced level).

  • Proven ability to lead teams and workshops.
  • Comfortable interacting with staff at all levels.
  • Strong IT skills, with an emphasis on data analysis and reporting.
