The Best Connection are recruiting for a part time Factory Maintenance Engineer to work 3 days a week in Walmer Bridge.

Job Overview: 

  • We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Factory Maintenance Engineer.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and continuous maintenance of machinery, equipment, and systems within the manufacturing facility.
  • This role requires a proactive individual with strong problem-solving abilities and hands-on technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance on factory equipment and machinery to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Respond quickly to breakdowns and system malfunctions, ensuring minimal disruption to production.
  • Perform regular inspections of equipment, systems, and facilities to identify and address potential issues.
  • Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections accurately.
  • Coordinate with production teams to schedule downtime for maintenance tasks without affecting production targets.
  • Assist in the installation of new equipment and machinery, ensuring proper setup and calibration.
  • Monitor equipment performance and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.
  • Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with company and industry standards for maintenance and operational processes.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated with the latest industry technologies and practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or relevant work experience).
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer or in a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance management systems and equipment.
  • Experience with diagnosing and troubleshooting machinery issues.
  • Good understanding of electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimal supervision.

Preferred Skills:

Knowledge of PLCs, automation systems, and robotics is a plus.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement practices.
Comfortable working in a factory environment with exposure to noise, heat, and machinery

Benefits
  • Hourly rate as above (not age dependent)
  • 28 days Paid Annual Leave pro-rata for PAYE (inclusive of statutory holiday)
