The Best Connection are proud to be working alongside our client to recruit for a Forklift Operative to join their established team.

We are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced forklift operative who will be trained on other types of forklifts and will get involved in a lot of manual handling as part of the job role

Responsibilities of the Forklift Operative 

• Load and unload large pack products, including kegs, casks and packaged products 
• Safely and efficiently load delivery vehicles for distribution across the site
• Work as part of a team with team leaders to meet daily workflow targets
• Ensure paperwork accuracy and compliance in all warehouse operations
• Resolve loading issues promptly and to a high standard or escalate if unsure 
• Support and adopt new warehouse processes and innovations
• Take responsibility for minimising stock loss and ensuring cleanliness and hygiene standards
• Flexibility to support additional duties as required by the business

Requirements of the Forklift Operative 

• Proactive and self-motivated with a “can-do” attitude.
• Accurate and diligent with administrative and compliance tasks.
• Physically capable of heavy lifting and regular forklift use.
• Previous experience in Warehousing, Logistics, or Supply Chain with time spent using a Forklift
• Forklift Truck Licence (Clamp and Tyne preferred)

Rates of pay 

• Will be £13.10 per hour rising to £14.65 per hour after 12 weeks continuous service 

Hours of work

Will be a rotating shift between 05:00-13:00 and 12:00-20:00
