The Best Connection is looking to recruit a number of extrusion operators, for one of our prestigious clients located near the Scunthorpe town Centre.

This will be a straight to permanent position, meaning you will be given a full-time position from day one.

There are two different extrusion positions available:

• BLOWN EXTRUSION - PREVIOUS EXPEREINCE IS ESSENTIAL 
• CAST EXTRUSION - NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Job duties will include but are not limited to:

• To operate at least one plant and machinery within specified zone maintaining targeted output with minimal interruption.
• Ensure that the machinery expected performance targets set by the planning teams are achieved
• Ensure that the net waste KPI of no greater than 2.5% is achieved
• Carry out correct start up and shutdown procedures for specified zone.
• Plan the day-to-day operation of zone to ensure ‘emergency situations do not arise through lack of raw materials, equipment failure and product specification problems.
• Follow set production programmes, understanding the importance of running to plan and association between production schedule and product specifications.
• Prioritise responsibilities to ensure housekeeping and hygiene standards are at an acceptable standard before other duties, including maintenance, are carried out.
• Complete all records and paperwork for specific zone legibly and accurately (e.g. handover books, quality records, maintenance schedules).
• Carry out daily autonomous maintenance tasks for the specified zone, competently and correctly.
• Follow the correct changeover procedures ensuring minimum time taken between stoppage and running at rated speed.
• Ensure the processes and operations in the zone are carried out effectively and at the appropriate time, maintaining a ‘First time quality’ mind set in all operations.

These positions require someone to follow a 24/5 rotating shift pattern.
