Our client, a well-known luxury department store based in Knightsbridge, is urgently seeking a Senior Project Manager on a permanent basis for their Store Development department.
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Project Manager to join our client's Store Development team, responsible for delivering complex construction and refurbishment projects from concept to completion. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality—while safeguarding health and safety and maintaining minimal disruption to the trading environment.
Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, you’ll coordinate cross-functional teams, contractors, and consultants to successfully plan and execute projects aligned with the client’s strategic goals.
Pay is subject to an annual bonus of up to 10% of salary.
Previous experience in a construction related role, and architectural background is desireable.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end management of multiple projects, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Define project scope, deliverables, schedules, and budgets in line with stakeholder expectations.
- Coordinate and communicate with internal teams, business units, and external contractors.
- Compile funding proposals and maintain comprehensive documentation.
- Conduct risk assessments and lead planning sessions to mitigate project challenges.
- Monitor project performance, control changes, and report on progress regularly.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety standards, Store Development procedures, and legal regulations.
- Contribute to the annual building surveys and prioritise defect rectification with minimal business impact.
- Maintain high standards of quality control and continuous improvement.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Build and manage high-performing teams—both internal and external.
- Provide clear direction, feedback, and coaching to team members.
- Foster a culture of accountability, inclusivity, and continuous learning.
- Upskill third-party suppliers to meet performance and safety standards.
- Work collaboratively across departments to build strong relationships and deliver shared outcomes.
About You
You are a confident communicator and skilled project leader with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure. You are commercially aware, customer-focused, and thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Building Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in client-side project management.
- Professional accreditation (MAPM essential; MRICS desirable).
- Strong knowledge of project planning tools, budgeting, and reporting.
- Demonstrated success delivering complex projects with multiple stakeholders.
