The Best Connection are currently recruiting on behalf of our client based in the Halesowen area of Birmingham. We are looking for a CNC Miller who is multi skilled in all areas of CNC Milling with Programming, Operating & Setting. This is a great opportunity to secure a permanent placement!
Main Duties & Responsibilities of the CNC Lathe Turner:
- To be able to interpret 2D drawing, specifications & route card instructions.
Plan & work out the following:
- how to machine the various features of the component
- the correct machine to carry out the task.
- the most efficient order to carry out machining tasks.
- how to locate / clamp the workpiece
- the correct tools for each stage of the operation
- the correct speeds & feeds
Also:
- Create machine CAD (SolidWorks) model from 2D drawing.
- Programme the machine (preferred languages, Heidenheim, NCG graphics, Siemens, Mazatrol)
- Operate the machine(s)
- Check / inspect component at various stages of sequence & final inspection to ensure quality standards are achieved.
- Deburring components and ensuring they are safe for material movement.
- Use of overhead cranes. (LOLER Training will be provided)
- Ensuring Machines & workplace areas are clean, tidy, and organised.
- General TPM activities, swarf removal, coolant routine oiling and greasing of machine etc.
- Carry out daily bookings against route card jobs and timings.
- Adhere to and encourage health and safety methods and procedures.
- Adhere to company environmental policy & procedures.
- Any other duties that maybe asked by team leader / manager that are within capabilities & Health & Safety parameters.
Hours of Work:
- AM - 06.00am -14.00pm
- PM - 14.00pm -22.00pm
- Nights - 22.00pm-06.00am
