We are currently seeking a Cleaning and Temporary Stops Operative to support our client in the maintenance and upkeep of bus shelters and bus stops across multiple regions. This is a hands-on, mobile role with an opportunity for a permanent position after a qualifying period.

Role Overview:

As a Cleaning and Temporary Stops Operative, you'll play a key role in ensuring bus shelters and stops remain clean, safe, and presentable. You'll also be responsible for reporting damage and deploying temporary bus stops as needed. The position requires a proactive and safety-conscious individual who enjoys working outdoors and independently.

Key Responsibilities:

• Clean and maintain bus shelters and bus stop infrastructure in line with service level agreements (SLAs)
• Report any damage or required maintenance using a mobile app
• Deploy and remove temporary bus stops at the request of local authorities
• Complete daily admin tasks via phone-based reporting tools
• Communicate updates and issues to the Thatcham Office
• Conduct weekly vehicle checks and ensure van is stocked with cleaning supplies
• Follow all safety procedures and work within defined method statements and risk assessments

Requirements:

• Full UK Driving Licence (essential for this mobile role)
• Previous experience in commercial or outdoor cleaning (e.g. street cleaning, public infrastructure, or facilities)
• Comfortable using smartphones or basic IT tools for daily reporting
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to perform minor repairs and basic maintenance tasks
• Reliable, flexible, and able to work independently in an outdoor environment

Working Hours:

• Minimum of 40 hours per week
• Typically Monday to Friday
• Hours vary weekly depending on workload and client needs (within the window of 06:00 – 18:00)
