The Best Connection are looking for a Chef de Partie for our client's prestigeous venue near Howden. This is initially a temporary position with a view to becomming permanent following a successful trial period
As a Chef within the Kitchen team, you will have the opportunity to contribute to a fantastic guest experience and learn plenty about food preparation and delivery at the same time. The ideal candidate will have experience of working in a fast-paced restaurant or hotel to a high standard.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Documenting each morning what is required before they prepare the day’s dishes
- Cleaning and organising the food preparation area, ensuring COSHH and HACCAP guidelines are achieved.
- Helping to develop an exceptional team under the guidance of the head chef
- Addressing and resolving diners’ and clients’ complaints quickly
- Monitoring the kitchen area and the staff to ensure sanitation standards are maintained
- Ensuring all food products to be prepared are not expired
Successful applicants will have:
- Great experience in leading banqueting / large functions
- In-depth knowledge of the kitchen’s routines and utensils
- Ability to grasp and follow the leading chef’s culinary instructions
- Knowledge of food preparation methods and presentation
- Knowledge of how to maintain and care for culinary utensils
- Diplomatic and conflict resolution skills
- Leadership skills
- Ability to work under pressure through rapid deadlines
- Be a talented team player
- To be proactive and ‘ahead of the game’ in terms of menu and food development
- Own transport due to the remote location
Hours, Pay and Benefits:
- Full-time
- Permanent position following a successful trial period
- Pay: £12.70-£13.00 per hour
- Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
