We are currently seeking an experienced Brake Press Operator to join our client in Thatcham. Role Overview:
As a Brake Press Operator, you will be responsible for setting up and operating press brake machinery to bend and form metal sheets according to detailed technical drawings. You will ensure the quality and accuracy of finished parts while adhering to health and safety procedures. A keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of metal fabrication processes are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate press brake machines to form metal parts
- Interpret technical drawings and job specifications
- Measure and inspect finished components for accuracy and quality
- Adjust tooling and machine settings as needed for each job
- Maintain, clean, and care for brake press machinery and tools
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a tidy work environment
Requirements:
- Proven experience operating press brake machinery in a manufacturing or fabrication setting (essential)
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings
- Proficiency with press brake tools and setups
- Strong attention to detail and quality standards
- Basic maths skills for accurate measurement and calculations
- Awareness of health and safety standards in a workshop environment
Working Hours:
- Minimum of 40 hours per week
- Typically Monday to Friday
- Hours vary weekly depending on workload and client needs (within the window of 06:00 – 18:00)
