Press Brake Operator

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operate the Durma Hydraulic Press Brake and other machinery used in the production process, or assist other machine operators.
Folders are Durmazlar with a Cybelec ModEva 10 CNC control units
Operator will need to have a good understanding of 3rd angle drawings and be able to work unsupervised
Set-up and operate CNC press brake to bend and form various sizes, shapes, and types of sheet metal parts as specified by part drawings to meet quality and production standards
Read production drawings and production orders
Retrieve own parts and dies, where necessary
Enter data into the machine's controller to create a program to run a part, including entering gauge data (x, y and z co-ordinates, bend allowances, gauge types); entering ram data (tonnage control, positioning, speeds); and entering any detailed information necessary for another operator to run the job in the future (die choices, die positions, information vital to running the job successfully)
Complete own setups, including setting up tooling, load programs and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment. Setting machine and raw material in most effective way
Recording these settings for future reference and keep appropriate production records
Having an understanding of different material grades
Familiar with types of bending defects and their causes
Handling parts in such a manner as to minimise damage
Determine if tools are undamaged and in safe condition for use
Inspects part for any non-conformities including those of a cosmetic nature (i.e. scratches, dents, deformities)
Capture and report to manager when re-makes are needed
Arrange completed parts in an orderly fashion and move finished parts to holding area
Ensure all job bookings accurately recorded
Completing operations within allocated time
Improve the processes where possible, in conjunction with management
Keep work area clean and organised
Work with team members to maximise productivity and efficiency
Consistently produce usable products that meets the dimensional specifications of the mechanical engineered drawings
Carry out checks and perform preventive maintenance on equipment as required within your capability.
To ensure compliance to Health and safety standards, and in-house Company rules, as directed by the Company
Any other duties that may fit into the remit of this role as and when required.

Monday-Friday 07.30-16.30

Pay rate between £11.50 and £13.50 depending on experience.
