Are you a detail-oriented individual with a passion for hands-on work? One of our client is looking for a dedicated Factory Operative to join our Fettling team at our Rochester site. If you have experience with band saw operations and a keen eye for precision, we want to hear from you!

Role Overview:

As a Factory Operative in our Fettling department, you will primarily be responsible for operating band saws and handling various casting processes. You’ll ensure that parts are processed according to technical specifications and maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Production: Operate band saws and process parts following relevant Technique cards and Works Instructions.
• Manual Handling: Efficiently move boxes of castings around the factory as required.
• Additional Tasks: Occasionally assist with shot blasting of castings using alumina grit.
• Data Recording: Use the Aventa touch screen system for touch screen bookings and complete job cards to log work performed.
• Health and Safety: Adhere to PPE requirements, understand COSHH assessments, and follow Risk Assessments.
• Maintenance: Maintain and clean shot blast extraction and cabinets as needed. Uphold department cleanliness and organization according to Aeromet’s housekeeping procedures, including 5S.

Key Requirements:

• Experience: Previous experience in a similar factory or production environment is advantageous but not essential.
• Skills: Ability to operate band saws and perform manual handling tasks safely. Basic understanding of data recording and health and safety procedures.
• Attributes: Strong attention to detail, reliability, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety.
