The Best Connection Ltd are recruiting a Transport First Line Manager for thier prestigious client based in the ST4 area.  The position is a temporary to permannet role and will start as soon as possible.

FLM’s are the front and centre of the transport operations and have a vital role coordinating the daily logistics requirements, providing support and information in the running of a safe and efficient operation. Having a supervisor / team leader role within the logistics environment is essential.

£16.66ph (Salary of £32,500) and you will be required to work on a MOnday to Friday rotating shift 06.00-14.00 / 14.00-22.00

The main responsibilities in this role would include:

Being responsible for a small team of transport and complaince adminisrators and managing the workload and day to day dealings of the drivers. Supporting your team with their daily tasks and performance management.
Taking a leadership role to ensure it is a safe and effective work environment.
Responsible for briefing and debriefing all drivers and the office team.
Being point of call for drivers on shift and managing the drivers performance in accordance with the daily transport plan.

In this role would need to have,

The ability to work under pressure and quick thinking to be able to solve any issue’s that may arise.
Good numerical skills, knowledge of Microsoft and supply chain practices are essential.
Transport manager CPC would be beneficial, however not essential as training would be provided.
