The Best Connection – Aviation Division is pleased to present an excellent opportunity to join our valued client, Wilson James, as an Airport Passenger Assistant at London Gatwick Airport.

This customer-facing role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about delivering outstanding service and supporting passengers as they begin their travel journeys. Working as part of the wider Airport Operations Team, you will play a key role in ensuring a smooth, professional, and welcoming airport experience for all.

Role Details:

  • Position: Airport Passenger Assistant
  • Location: London Gatwick Airport
  • Pay Rate: £14.01 per hour

Contract Type: Temporary (approx. 2 months)

  • Start Date: End of July, August, or September
  • Shifts: 6-hour shifts – either 06:00–13:00 or 13:00–20:00
  • Pattern: 3 shifts per week (part-time)
  • Flexibility: Flexible availability is essential
  • Pay Frequency: Weekly (every Friday)
  • Overtime: Opportunities available

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver courteous, professional, and efficient service to all passengers
  • Provide special assistance to passengers requiring mobility or additional support, including families, using wheelchairs or electric buggies where required
  • Assist with luggage handling when necessary
  • Conduct and record daily equipment checks, promptly reporting any faults
  • Ensure all mobility equipment is clean, functional, and well-maintained
  • Communicate effectively with the Centralised Control team via handheld IT devices
  • Complete all relevant paperwork accurately and in a timely manner
  • Carry out any additional tasks as directed by the operations team or management

Candidate Profile – What We’re Looking For:

  • A strong work ethic and a consistently positive attitude
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
  • A natural commitment to high standards of customer care
  • Ability to work independently while remaining calm under pressure
  • A full UK driving licence – Essential
  • Previous airport or aviation experience – Desirable
  • Multilingual applicants are highly encouraged to apply

Compliance Requirements:

  • Due to Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) regulations, all candidates must be able to:
  • Undergo a Criminal Record Check (at no cost to you)
  • Provide a 5-year checkable work and address history
  • Submit an Overseas Criminal Record Check (if applicable)
  • Hold valid, in-date photo ID (passport, UK driving licence, or national ID)
  • Attend a mandatory Aviation Security Training Course (fully paid)
